This was the core challenge our team faced when initiating our “Cultural Revival” series. The Great Wall of China, a magnificent symbol of civilization, is known for its grandeur and solemnity. Our mission was to make it soft, approachable, and warm.

Our solution: to bring it to life. Instead of merely replicating the Great Wall’s form, we embarked on a bold journey of personification.

Character Creation: We reimagined the most iconic feature of the Great Wall—the watchtower—as a living, little guardian spirit. Its formidable exterior became a soft, plush body, with cold stone bricks replaced by warm, beige and brown plush fabrics.

The “Cuteness” Factor: We gave it a simple yet heartwarming smiley face, with curious eyes and a gentle smile that instantly closes the distance between the object and the person. This transforms a static piece of architecture into an adorable character that invites hugs and companionship.

Playful Pompoms: The small red pompoms atop the watchtower are like festive little lanterns, adding a dash of joy and vitality.
